In the US, 1 in 5 students ages 12-18 has been bullied during the school year. In today's society, bullying is something that has been normalized in our communities, schools, and workplaces. Bullying is a behavior that is designed to hurt someone or make them do something against their will. A lot of these behaviors start in the home and/or learned in the community in which they are being raised. The importance of educating on bullying, advocating and mentoring victims and perpetrators is critical to decreasing the spread of this type of toxic behavior. When the youth is educated on bullying and its effects, we can start to help those understand why it is wrong and the long-term damage it can cause.
